Buttermilk Base Area
The Inn At Aspen is the significant and only hotel located at the base of the Buttermilk Ski Area. Both the Inn and the adjoining Buttermilk Ski Area facilities (operated by the Aspen Skiing Company) consist of aging structures that do not fully utilize the site or meet the expectations of the ski resort guests.

Stan Clauson Associates was selected by the Inn at Aspen Condominium Association Board of Managers to act as an Owners’ Representative and permit process consultant with respect to the redevelopment of the Inn at Aspen property. In order to develop a cooperative project with the Aspen Skiing Company, SCA engaged Design Workshop, Inc. to provide integrated design concepts. In serving as an Owners’ Representative, SCA keeps the Board informed of all issues and opportunities throughout the redevelopment process, and is working to create a redevelopment plan that will meet the facility and financial needs of both the Inn At Aspen owners and the Aspen Skiing Company. This includes a more efficient, cohesive site plan that will allow for a new flagship hotel, greater commercial opportunities, and the continued ability to host major events, such as The Winter X Games.
